PROTOCOLS DIFFERENCT

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROUTING AND ROUTED PROTOCOLS AND EXAMPLES OF THEM PLEASE.

Routing Protocols give the information about in which direction the data should be transferred further over the network to reach the destination. The following are some of the Routing protocols.
RIP
IGRP
EIGRP
OSPF
BGP
These protocols provide the network information on which route the data packet should move further for reaching the destination. These are normally used by the L3 devices such as L3 Switches, Gateways and routers.

The routed protocols are the application protocols such as http, ftp, nfs etc. These protocols do not have the capability of knowing the routes to reach the destination and depend on the routing protocols.
