Unable to boot when USB harddisk is connected

We have attached USB harddisk for taking backup of data in Operating offices. But in some offices we find that the server is not booting when the USB is attached. It is not booting even when we upgraded the operating system. It works only when we remove it and subsequently connect it upon booting. But this creates other problems which operating offices cannot troubleshoot. Is there any solution to this problem?

IN THE SERVER, PLEASE CHECK THE DISK MANAGEMENT(COMPUTER PROPERTIES AND MANAGE), THERE U CAN FIND DIFFERENT PARTITIONS. PLEASE SEE THAT IF USB DRIVE LETTER PARTITION IS IN BLUE COLOR(I.E PRIMARY PARTITION) THEN THE SYSTEM WILL NOT UNDERSTAND FROM C DRIVE AND USB DRIVE TO BOOT.

WHEREEVER THE USB DRIVE IS IN BLUE COLOR, BY COPYING IMP DATA FROM USB TO SOMEWHERE AND REMOVE THE PARTITION AND CREATE PARTITION FOR THE SAME USB AS AN EXTENDED PARTITION AND GIVE THE DRIVE LETTER.

THEN EVEN IF USB DRIVE IS CONNECTED THE SYSTEM WILL BOOT.
